Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport is shabby and unimaginative: perfect for trench-coated men who could lurk behind its wide columns or in its dark wooden payphone booths.

    an airport may be shabby, but is the Tehran airport really dilapidated. dilapidated is rather extreme. maybe you mean "mean, despicable, contemptible, but what kind of sensibility holds a building, rather than its builders, in contempt?

    no structure can be said to be "unimaginative," because, you know, structures are not conscious. They may be said to be "unimaginatively designed," or not, but that tells us very little about the actual features of the structure. Tori, why are you trying to write when you really do not know how?
